The Best Hindi TV Shows for Kids on Netflix (Updated)
An easy and low-effort way to give your kids exposure to Hindi/Urdu!
Bollywood movies are great, but sometimes you just want your child to watch a short Hindi TV show that can be finished quickly, and is made specifically for children.
Watching TV shows is the ideal way to get your child some language time, that is EASY for you (the parent), and requires minimal effort.
The fact that these shows are made specifically for children also means that children can review vocabulary that is relevant for them – e.g. colors, animals, conversational vocabulary (as opposed to the more dramatic, poetic vocabulary used in Bollywood cinema).

How to Find Hindi Shows to Watch on Netflix
Netflix has recently made it really easy for you to find kids’ content that is either dubbed in Hindi or originally in Hindi. All you have to do is the below:
1. Go to “Netflix Kids” on your computer/laptop
2. Select ‘Browse by Languages’ up top.
3. Sort by ‘Hindi’ ‘Dubbing’ or ‘Original Language’
4. All the available Hindi TV shows will appear
TIP: If your child is NEW to Hindi, and doesn’t know much Hindi already, start out with:
-
Either shows they are already familiar with (so they can follow along with the story)
OR -
Shows meant for younger children. This way, they can learn basic vocabulary at a slower pace. For example, if your child doesn’t mind (some might!) start them out with Teletubbies before moving on to something more complicated like Llama Llama or PJ Masks.
Here are our recommendations for the best TV shows below!
1. Teletubbies
For ages 2+ and preschoolers
Teletubbies is wonderful for young kids who need a slow and intentional introduction to the Hindi/Urdu language. There is minimal speaking and what IS said is very useful for kids – like the numbers ek, do, teen and colors. The episodes include catchy songs too covering topics like bubbles and friendship.
2. Word Party Math
For ages 2+
Word Party Math uses sing along songs and numbers to teach age-appropriate math skills such as patterns, shapes and measurements. The cute characters carry the show with engaging dynamics and simple language. Wonderful for young kids just starting out learning Hindi. What I like best is that even though the show is dubbed in Hindi, the learning concepts are in English (e.g. the words “pattern” remain “pattern” which is more accurate to how people would speak in the Indian Subcontinent), which will help kids in school just as well as the English version would.
3. Gabby’s Dollhouse
For ages 3+
This one is a huge hit in my house. With Gabby’s Dollhouse in Hindi, kids learn about imaginative play, problem solving and even will learn a little arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and science. Each episode has an overarching structure that kids will look forward to and soon be able to anticipate – including a live action section, a mail delivery at the top of each episode, and some very cute kitty-tastic songs.
Hindi wise, I love that the structures of sentences are in Hindi. There is a little more English in the dub than I would prefer (e.g. all colors are said in English) but overall it is extremely engaging and useful for kids to learn sentence structures, which are arguably the hardest (and most important) thing to teach!
4. Masha & The Bear
For ages 4+
Masha & The Bear follows a smart, confident little girl and her silent and loyal bear pal, who keeps her out of trouble. One of the most popular shows in the world, this series will definitely appeal to your young child/ toddler.
The Hindi in the dubbed version is easy to follow because only Masha speaks, while the bear grunts and gestures in return. Most of the story can be followed without much language – which makes it a good but not the great option for families looking for more Hindi/Urdu exposure.
5. Llama Llama
For ages 4+
Llama Llama, based on the popular book series, is a lovely show aimed at teaching kids kindness, friendship and empathy. Each episode follows the adventures, fears and issues linked with childhood. This show will definitely expand your child’s Hindi vocabulary around feelings and social interactions. Personally, I love this show for kids – steadily paced, warm and engaging.
6. PJ Masks
For ages 4+
This show is all about superheroes and solving fun mysteries with your friends. This show teaches great social skills and is fast paced and exciting. Hindi-wise this show might be for more advanced Hindi speakers, since it includes complicated words like amulet and astroid in Hindi, that isn’t the most useful, but fun nevertheless!
7. Blippi’s Jobshow
For ages 4+
In this high-energy show, Blippi and his best friend Meekah explore different jobs in a documentary-like style. The show is very much created for young kids and both main characters are conduits for the audience watching at home. Each episode talks about a new job like astronauts, grocery workers, art teachers and more. There are songs and interesting job-related details that even some adults might not know!
This show is amazing for HIndi/Urdu skills! In each episode, both Blippi and Meekah speak directly to the children watching at home – asking questions like “mere saath grocery store chalogey?” giving kids at home an opportunity to answer and practice their speaking skills.
8. Princess Power
For ages 4+
Princess Power is about four different princesses who love to go on exciting adventures together. The show is colorful and fun and reimagines the age-old princess tropes in new ways. These princesses enjoy wearing pants, don’t mind getting messy and are very diverse. The show will give your child extensive exposure to Hindi/Urdu and will expand their vocabulary to include animals, fruits, feelings, and much more.
9. My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
For ages 5+
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is a nostalgic treat – all about friendship, building social skills and emotional intelligence. The episodes deal with a variety of themes such as teamwork, kindness and magic.
In terms of the Hindi dub, the language used here is probably the fastest paced and most complicated, making it great for little kids who know Hindi already, and are ready for a challenge.
10. Barbie Life in The Dreamhouse
For ages 8+
This show is high-quality entertainment for kids and adults alike. Each episode is short (about 3-5 minutes long) and has clever jokes, sarcasm and positive messages appropriate for children. With a cute mockumentary style, it definitely has a “cool” factor needed to keep your almost pre-teen’s attention!

That's it! I have chosen not to include chota bheem shows, because some content can become a little violent, but of course that is your choice as a parent!
Hope you enjoy. Again, if you find more shows you like on Netflix let me know!
